Our Decatur chiropractic practice offers pain relief for those who suffer with migraines and headaches. One of the reasons I became an Atlanta chiropractor is because my debilitating headaches went away when I started chiropractic care at the age of 28. Due to own experience, I am committed to helping every patient we see get rid of their own headaches or significantly reduce the intensity and frequency.
One of first goals is to identify the life-style triggers that are contributing to the frequency and intensity of the migraines and headaches. When we look our patients x-rays and posture pictures, we commonly see a loss of the normal “c-shape” curve that is crucial for healthy neck function and mobility. Additionally, a lot of people who suffer with headaches have “forward head posture” that puts pounds of extra pressure on the spine and nervous system. Regular chiropractic adjustments remove the tension, stiffness and stress to the spine, nervous system and surrounding tissues that people have become conditioned to. There are many studies showing the benefits of the drug-free, natural healing approach of chiropractic for migraine sufferers. For example, in one study chiropractic care resulted in a reduction of 90% of migraine episodes with the length of each migraine reduced by 38%. In addition, medication use dropped 94% and other symptoms associated with migraine such as nausea, vomiting, photophobia and phonophobia were reduced.
