Dr. Sherwood's Biography
I am originally from Philadelphia and graduated from Temple University in 1986, summa cum laude, with a B.A. in psychology. I spent the next few years working with brain-injured individuals and began applying into doctoral programs for cognitive psychology. During this time I struggled almost daily with terrible headaches that were growing in intensity. I was also developing stomach ulcers and other secondary health problems from all of the pain medication that I was taking. I remember seriously doubting rather or not I would be able to return to school. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. A friend practically dragged me to her Chiropractor for a consultation. I began treatment with her and within a short period of time my debilitating headaches went away completely. I was absolutely blown away because I had had them for almost ten years and I had tried everything I knew of to get rid of them. After experiencing what was for me, nothing short of a miracle, I knew I had found my calling and moved to Atlanta to attend Life Chiropractic College. I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic cum laude in 1994 and have practiced in the Atlanta area ever since. Practicing Chiropractic has truly exceeded my expectations of a satisfying career. Assisting patients of all ages in getting out of acute or chronic pain and moving on to higher levels of health and energy has never been anything short of gratifying! Dr. Murphy's Biography
I am originally from Michigan. While studying at the University of Michigan School of Management I discovered my true calling was chiropractic after seeking care for chronic low back pain. I traced the pain back to my teenage years of playing hockey and taking hits on the ice for many years. When I sought care through the traditional route from my family medical doctor, I was prescribed pain pills and other medications that seemed at best to mask the pain without addressing the cause. When my medical doctor finally recommended trying chiropractic, I jumped on it as a last resort. The results were phenomenally positive and within a very short time the back pain was completely gone. Additionally, I noticed increased energy, more flexibility and an overall sense of wellness that I hadn't had for some time. For these reasons I have always remained under regular, preventative chiropractic care.
